Get your nominations in for the Discover Ashfield Awards 2026

Ashfield District Council is on the hunt for community heroes as residents are asked to nominate those who go above and beyond.

The Discover Ashfield Awards 2026, now in their seventh year, celebrate the achievements over the past 12 months of the fantastic people, organisation and businesses across the district.

Discover Ashfield, alongside Ashfield District Council, is looking for people to nominate their community champions, businesses that go the extra mile and their favourite place to visit.

There are 10 categories up for grabs recognising all that is amazing across the district.

The full details of each category and how to nominate can be found on the Council’s website.

The categories for this year are:

  • Community Champion
  • Rising Star Business
  • Project of the Year
  • Made in Ashfield: Inspiring Mentor
  • Best High Street Business
  • Made in Ashfield: Young Achiever
  • Business of the Year
  • Green Ashfield
  • Ashfield's Favourite Place
  • Community Organisation of the Year

Cllr Matthew Relf, Executive Lead Member for Growth, Regeneration and Local Planning, said: “Ashfield has some incredible individuals, organisations and businesses who really make a difference to their communities but often don’t get the recognition they deserve.

“The Discover Ashfield Awards is your chance to thank them for everything they do and shout about all of the amazing things they have achieved. It is a chance for people to come together and share their stories on a night that is all about celebrating what is good about Ashfield.

“If you know someone who is worthy of an award, then please nominate them and give them their well-deserved moment in the spotlight.”

Kieran Percival, Chair of Discover Ashfield, said: “It’s a real privilege to be Chair of Discover Ashfield and to see first-hand just how much talent, ambition and passion we have across our district.

“The Discover Ashfield Awards are about celebrating that success and giving people, businesses and organisations the opportunity to tell their stories and be proud of what they have achieved.

“I would particularly encourage people not to think ‘this isn’t for me’ or wait for somebody else to nominate them. If you’re doing something great in Ashfield, whether that’s growing a business, supporting your community, creating opportunities or simply going above and beyond, we want to hear about it.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing this year’s entries and, most importantly, bringing everyone together to celebrate the people and organisations that make Ashfield a place we can all be proud of.”

The winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony to be hosted early next year.
